Cooperation with the Mazowieckie Centre for Social Policy

On 8 February this year, HM prof. dr. hab. Paweł Czarnecki, MBA, DBA, LL.M, dr. h.c. – Provost of Collegium Humanum and Mr. Aleksander Kornatowski, EMBA – Director of the Mazowieckie Centre for Social Policy in Warsaw signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement covers the possibility of organising joint activities in the field of social policy education by way of workshops, lectures and conferences related to social issues. An important element of the agreement is also a provision allowing students of our University to undertake internships at the Centre for Social Policy.

Mazowieckie
Centre for Social Policy is an organisational unit of the local government of Mazowieckie Voivodeship, which means that it is most often involved in the implementation and running of the entire social policy of the region on the basis of the voivodeship budget and on behalf of the local authorities.

Formally, the Centre is a regional hub for social policy (this is how institutions of this type are specified in the law). Its name emphasises the fact that it belongs to the Masovian Voivodeship, whereas the word “Centre” reflects the nature of the institution: it is the place that gives its origin to ideas (included in strategies and programmes on various areas of social policy), inspiration and substantive support in the form of trainings, publications and, last but not least, resources in the form of subsidies provided to non-governmental organisations and other entities.

Its main areas of focus include: addiction prevention, counteracting domestic violence, counteracting social exclusion, social and vocational rehabilitation of people with disabilities, senior policy, supporting families, including with regard to mental health, supporting the foster care system, organising and running adoption centres in the region, coordinating activities for the social economy sector, organising education and trainings, among others for social welfare staff and social service centres.
