This specialization focuses on the provision of care and support to people who are socially, medically or chronically disabled in the long term in order to improve their status in the society and improve their lives. The curriculum of this specialization covers such issues as pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, sociology and human resources management. The specialization prepares students to take on various roles ensuring a dignified and happy life of the disabled.

  • Diagnosing life needs as well as various possibilities and limitations of disabled and elderly people
  • Methods of therapy and activation
  • Terminology related to old age and disability
  • Cooperation with medical staff
  • Creating rehabilitation programmes together with rehabilitators and therapists

  • Creating optimal living conditions
  • Building relationships with the family and local environment of the disabled
