The studies prepare – both theoretically and practically – for the profession of a psychologist in the field of mental healthcare. The aim of this specialization is to educate specialist psychologists who will have focused and very specific knowledge in the field of psychopathology, that is behavioural and personality disorders, psychoses, addictions, anxiety disorders and others. Furthermore, the aim of the programme is to educate students how to professionally support people in their development, plan diagnostic procedures and conduct therapies. The specialization is intended for those who want to help patients with difficulties in their mental functioning and provide them with professional psychological support in solving life crises while counteracting behavioural disorders.

During the programme, students will learn how emotions arise, how a person makes conscious and unconscious decisions and how the brain perceives signals from the environment. You will learn the most practical diagnostic and therapeutic methods that can be applied across clinical practice. You will learn about the relationship between human behaviours and brain structures so that to be able to recognize abnormalities.
