The specialization in psychology of children, adolescents and families provides knowledge about the diagnosis and therapy of children and teenagers as well as their families. The curriculum focuses on a multifaceted understanding of specific dilemmas of childhood and adolescence. It also looks more broadly at the context of symptoms, the aetiology of difficulties, developmental disorders and wider family relationships. Psychology of children, adolescents and families as a study programme is addressed to people who are interested in the psychology of human development and feel the need to help young people in their quest to discover their own self. Candidates should be open to new experiences and remain sensitive to the issues of childhood and adolescence. In addition, the studies analyse various psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques.
