Psychology – UNIFORM MASTER’S STUDIES » Psychology of crisis and crisis intervention
The occurrence of psychological crises of various problems, depth and complexity is becoming more frequent. In the face of a psychological crisis, a person affected by it often experiences disturbances in everyday functioning, difficulties in “grasping reality”, or difficulties in maintaining a sense of meaning and purpose in life. In such cases, multifaceted and interdisciplinary help to people in crisis becomes indispensable. The proposed specialization equips the student with the knowledge and skills to help in a situational, environmental, developmental and existential crisis.
The student will learn to plan and apply intervention strategies including working through and modifying negative feelings through the influence of cognitive structures on the client’s emotional processes and behavior, as well as shaping the client’s sense of security by building their resources and resilience to confront traumatic experiences. After completing the education, the student will be prepared to run assistance programs, counseling, education and organize support groups.
