Inauguration of the academic year 2022/23 at Collegium Humanum Branch in Wrocław

Last week, on 18 October, we had an immense pleasure of hosting a truly ceremonial inauguration of the academic year 2022/23 at Collegium Humanum – Branch in Wrocław. The ceremony was connected with the solemn act of consecrating the new seat of our branch located at ul. Oławska 11. The consecration, which was made by HE Bishop dr Maciej Małyga, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Wrocław, was followed by the matriculation of new students.


The inauguration ceremony was honoured by the presence of the following guests: Mr Krzysztof Grzelczyk – former General Consul of Poland in Toronto and London and former Governor of Lower Silesia, dr Jerzy Kosa – Director of the Forum of Sport Managers, Mr Waldemar Biskup – Chairman of the Programme Council of the Youth Sports Centre, Mr Adam Stocki – President of the Regional Society for the Promotion of Physical Culture, Mr Marian Dymalski, MBA, DBA, dr h.c. – Vice President of FISU, member of the board of the Polish Olympic Committee, Vice President of AZS and member of Collegium Humanum Business Consultative Council, dr Sławomir Kownacki, MBA – President of Poldróg and graduate of Collegium Humanum, Mr Zbigniew Zamęcki – Vice President of the Polish Sumo Association, dr Henryk Knakiewicz – representing the Aesthetic Surgery Clinic, senior brig. Mr Bogusław Brud – Deputy Commander of the Provincial State Fire Services and prof. dr hab. Arkadiusz Durasiewicz – Vice Provost of Collegium Humanum.


The inaugural lecture entitled “Serving the country in Poland and abroad” was delivered by Mr Krzysztof Grzelczyk, former General Consul of Poland in Toronto and former Governor of Lower Silesia.


The focal point of the ceremony was the matriculation of first-year students. On behalf of the new students, the oaths were taken by Agata Weiss, Julia Łakomiak, Bartłomiej Cieplik, Piotr Kloska, Aleksandra Halusiak, Khrystyna Kotsur and Sandra Fejdasz. Later, the Provost of Collegium Humanum, prof. dr hab. Paweł Czarnecki, symbolically touched the arms of the new students with the University mace as a form of approval of their swearing-in as students of Collegium Humanum.


The Provost then presented the most diligent students with diplomas of recognition of their academic achievements.

Our new first-year students were also welcomed by Filip Leszczyński, President of the Student Union at Collegium Humanum.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the performance of Medici Cantantes Choir of the Medical University in Wrocław with songs of Gaude Mater Polonia, Bogurodzica and Gaudeamus Igitur.
